PD: In the interests of fairness, this is Stefan's response to my Gushin B-Day cheap shot at him. Take it away, Senator....
Stefan: What are we to make of this latest outburst? 10 years ago?, someone gave me a McGuffin for my birthday and it's a gift that keeps on giving. Your parochial narcissism sees only a plea for attention. After all, it's what you would do. It's how you interact with the world. It's how you feel the world treats you. You are The Projectionist.
Me. Well, I see a preexisting piece of content that I own the copyright to, one that I can easily create a video for, one that I can upload quickly. It was just lying around collecting dust.
The gods of S.E.O. are appeased, temporarily. More importantly, their appeasement allows me to take a month off and, maybe do my taxes. And watch sports. And drink beer. You know: guy stuff. Well, OK. You wouldn't know. I apologize for that most unparliamentary cheap shot. About the guy stuff, I mean.
So, a video is created for a song that's just been hanging around. Only the most plodding of literalists (*cough*UCONN E Lit degree) and agenda pushers would try straight-jacket a narrative to conform to their own warped view of the world. The song really has nothing to do with me. Never really did. And now it's been repurposed to meet the requirements of the GlastonburyMannnnn brand. I can't think of a better birthday gift for me.
This does bring up an interesting question about what role, if any, Pale Dave or Missing the Moon might play in the overall success this Gushin B-Day. Well? Used to be that a post in Missing the Moon was good for 12-15 views. Not unique viewers, mind you, but views. These days Youtube Insight pegs MTM's typical contribution to video's view count at 6 views, tops. Your soapbox adds sooooooooooo much to your stature. And your stature is only outshone by your relevance. Just sayin...
